'Sustainability - Creating the Culture' Conference Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Aberdeen, Scotland, 2-4 November 2005
The Sustainable Development Research Centre (SDRC) is pleased to announce its second annual conference. Following on from a successful conference in Inverness this conference will build and examine further the policy, infrastructure and stakeholder requirements needed to create a culture of sustainability.
Located this year in Aberdeen, the conference will bring together an international and interdisciplinary audience to share new ideas and debate current best practice in sustainable development (SD) environmental management (EM) and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Papers We have already received some excellent abstracts and papers from a wide range academic institutions and businesses from the UK and from many overseas countries, Slovenia, Brazil and Spain. This looks to be shaping up to be an excellent conference to be a part of.
We are particularly interested in papers from researchers and practitioners that critically examine the latest developments in sustainable development, environmental management and corporate social responsibility. Papers are also welcome from other relevant areas. For the guidance of contributors a list of subject criteria follows:
* Limits to growth and role of sustainable development * Measuring and monitoring sustainability * Corporate social responsibility * Social enterprise and sustainable development * European SD and CSR policy * Environmental accountability * The transition to sustainability * Sustainability in African communities * Managing natural resources * Sustainable practices in local authorities * Measuring environmental risk * Renewable energy systems * Sustainable travel * Ecological economics * Environmental management systems * Sustainable land use models * Industrial symbiosis networks * Sustainable leadership in Governments * Alliances for a sustainable future * Ethical management * Local Authority sustainable initiatives * Biodiversity and coastal protection
