The Drench Award
Call for Entries, Deadline: Nov. 1, 2005
Area of Design has been recognizing excellence in design through The Drench Award Competition.
The Drench Award honors outstanding submissions in each of the following categories:
1) Branding
2) Illustration
3) Packaging
4) Print
Establishing Winners
A panel of eight industry judges will nominate one entry per category to receive a Drench Award. These four winners will be featured extensively on the Area of Design Web site.
Where applicable, the judges may award an Honorable Mention to other outstanding entries in each category.
The four Drench Award winners' work (one per category) will be further judged by a select panel of AOD Members.
The ultimate winner will receive a "Platinum Drench Award" and an Apple iPod Mini (color of their choice), for overall design excellence.
Eligibility
Competition is for individuals and firms.
All work must have been printed, produced, or published between November 1, 2004 and November 1, 2005.
If you are located outside the United States and would like to enter, your work must be designed for US clients.
Submission of entries acknowledges the right of Area of Design to use them for publication and exhibition.
Unacceptable Material
Designs that contain illicit material, engage in illegal activity, propagate "hate" messages, make defamatory statements, or which are otherwise extraordinarily offensive, are not eligible.
Entries
Entries may be submitted through our online entry form or by mail.
Entry Fee and Payment
All entries are $35 per submission. Payment may be made by credit card using PayPal or by Check or Money Order made payable to "Area of Design". Entry fees are not refundable.
Format
Online Submission
If you are submitting using our online entry form, you will be asked to upload your file. Please provide a scanned or photographed entry piece at 200dpi RGB in JPEG or PDF format.
Submission by Mail
If you are submitting by mail, please include the actual designed piece with your name and/or firm, title of piece, Entry form and check or money order made payable to "Area of Design".
Accepted Entries
Only accepted entries will be notified on or before December 15, 2005. Complete credits and any necessary material will be requested at that time.
Framed awards for firms and individuals will be mailed in January 2006.

Area of Design will announce the winners in January 2006.
