The Hurricane Poster Project
Poster sale to benefit hurricane victims.
http://www.thehurricaneposterproject.com
Moxie Sozo, a nationally known design firm in Boulder, Colorado is teaming up with other designers and design firms around the country to create THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT.
All poster designers please step up!
THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT seeks limited edition sets of hurricane-related posters from high-profile and up-and-coming artists, designers, and design firms from around the United States and abroad. The donated posters will be sold online, and all proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross.
As designers, we have the collective ability to do what we love, AND to create a difference. THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT has been conceived as a collective effort by the design community to unite and effect change through our work. In order for this project to be successful, we are counting on designer participation. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000,000 for the Red Cross through this project. Please spread the word. Please participate. We continue to receive new posters almost every day, and will continue to accept submissions until December 31, 2005.
If you have questions or need more information, please contact Leif Steiner at: info@thehurricaneposterproject.com or 720.304.7210.
--- POSTER REQUIREMENTS:
- Posters should be specific to Hurricane Katrina or THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT. Designers are encouraged to make political and/or social statements about what just happened regarding Hurricane Katrina and our current political climate.
- Minimum size: 11 x 17" (This will enable students and designers on a tight budget to print posters on a color laser printer) Ideal size: 18 x 24 or larger.
- IMPORTANT: The posters should be SIGNED/NUMBERED editions. Quantities of 25-100. The posters should not be one-offs.
- Designers will be responsible for designing, printing, and delivering the posters to THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT. Although numerous printers have expressed interest in helping us, we simply don't have the human power to coordinate all of the printing ourselves.
fine print:
- Posters may include credits for vendors who have donated supplies or services, but please keep them small and unobtrusive.
- All submissions will become property of THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT, and will be sold to raise funds for the AMERICAN RED CROSS hurricane disaster relief effort. Several posters from each donated set will be retained for possible future exhibition or publication.
- Designers may determine the selling price of their posters, but THE HURRICANE POSTER PROJECT reserves the right to change prices based on availability and demand.
- DEADLINE: This is an ongoing project that will continue to accept submissions until December 31, 2005. Given the timeliness of the situation, we strongly encourage designers to submit posters as soon as possible.
