The Park Avenue Design Ideas CompetitionThe Park Avenue Design Ideas Competition is sponsored by the United Arts Council of Collier County in conjunction with the Southwest Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
The competition is an ideas based, non commissioned design competition with a cash award to the winning entry.
The purpose of the Park Avenue Design Ideas Competition is to create ideas and goals for the future development of an integral urban landscape to the core of Marco Island, Florida.
The property, formerly know as the Glon property and now known as the Park Avenue property is nestled in the heart of Marco Island.
It is in the District of Marco Island's master plan carrying the label "Town Center".
The property can be reached from turning left off of Marco Island's main drive (Collier Boulevard) onto Elkcam Circle West.
The property is bounded by commercial developments to the West and North, a place of worship to the East and a navigable waterway with Gulf of Mexico access to the South.
Adjacently West of the properties Southern boundary is a new timeshare condominium property with Gulf access.
The timeshare is the first of many proposed developments on Elkcam circle.
Plans are currently on the table for a new development that will further connect the Park Avenue Property to Collier Boulevard where it aligns with a popular mixed use
