Istanbul Fragmented 2005Istanbul, 21 - 24 September 2005.
Istanbul Fragmented is an experimental discussion platform on urban representation host by Istanbul Technical University - faculty of architecture.
The event consists of a series of speculative recent approaches by the young researchers in the cultural fields in the format of round table discussions, workshops and exhibitions.
Istanbul Fragmented aims at bringing together new works reflecting urban and cultural theorising while focusing upon cultural productions and textual representations of the urban space of Istanbul as well as in general.
Istanbul Fragmented'05 coincides with the 9th International Istanbul Biennale between 16 September- 30 October 2005, co-curated by Charles Esche and Vasif Kortun.
The title of the Biennale is "Istanbul" referring both to the real urban location and the imaginative charge that this city represents for the world.
