Ecobuild is the world's biggest event dedicated to sustainable design, construction and the built environment.
Now in its fifth year, Ecobuild 2009 will attract in excess of 800 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors, and host more than 100 seminar and conference sessions along with dozens of topical and inspiring visitor attractions.
Ecobuild started life in September 2004 as a small "green building" conference alongside another event at The Truman Brewery in London's Brick Lane.
Almost immediately it developed a following amongst pioneering architects and designers and attracted a small community of suppliers of innovative sustainable construction products.
Such was the enthusiasm that the first Ecobuild proper took place less than a year later, in June 2005, at the QEII Conference Centre.
Having outgrown that venue, Ecobuild moved - along with its sister event, Futurebuild - to London's Earls Court in 2006 where it has more than doubled in size and attendance every year since.
Over 500 exhibitors and nearly 26,000 visitors took part in 2008, making Ecobuild the biggest event dedicated to sustainable design, construction and the built environment in the world.

Based on the fundamental belief that good design is born from innovation and inventive use of materials, Dwell and CaesarStone are hosting a design competition.
The premise is simple: Create a modern table design using any CaesarStone material.
The competition is looking for designs that depart from the expected, showcase a creative use of materials, and feature some element of sustainability.

Creativity and innovation in the design of points of sale can play a big role for a better economic and commercial development for Brussels, while having an impact on the quality and the improvement of urban life, the places and the attitudes of consumption and the capital's image in Belgium and abroad.
Commerce Design Brussels is an exceptional day devoted to the design of commercial spaces (shops and boutiques in all sectors, restaurants, bars, cafes, service oriented shops and shopping centres).
This colloquium proposes, through the expertise and talent of professionals and companies active in the development of commercial spaces, adequate tools and lasting solutions for the promotion and distinctive distribution of products and services.
It will allow, moreover, to connect the added value of the sales and well-being areas to the transformation of local urban spaces.

Brisbane Indesign is a leading design event bringing over 4000 of the most respected architecture and design professionals together with the best international and local products.
It is a unique event that enables the design community to visit leading showrooms in Fortitude Valley and the surrounding suburbs of Brisbane.
It also provides an unrivalled opportunity to discover new networking opportunities, sample products and develop ideas and relationships.
Australian design continues to grow and inspire, and nowhere is this more evident than in the state of Queensland.
The individual talent and sheer output of new design is testament to the depth and energy of the design culture that has been nurtured in Australia's sunny state.
Recognising the strength and scope of Queensland design, Indesign saw a need to take the format of Saturday in Design from Sydney and Melbourne and give it a new home, and a new name, in Brisbane.

Developed in collaboration Blank,Mosseri over the past year, the new site has as its centerpiece a flash-based calendar that both showcases the Institute's century old legacy and offers improved access to ongoing work and upcoming programs.
Within this timeline, visitors can leaf through images of an architectural drawing submitted to the annual Paris Prize competition in 1906, an issue of Balance magazine published in 1956, photographs from The Good Life exhibition in 2006, and information about the New York Prize Fellows who will be in residence at the Institute next year.
Other highlights of the new website include: dedicated pages for each of the New York Prize Fellows and their projects, extensive details about Van Alen Institute's recent design competitions, a resources section that serves as a portal to the Institute's Digital Archive Initiative and library of publications, a revitalized membership program with online enrollment, and audio, video & image galleries for all public programs.
