 The past few days have seen a frenzy of discussion among architects about the new Frank Gehry design for the Art Gallery of Ontario. What follows is a distillation of four views of the proposed scheme, from some of Toronto's leading architectural lights. What emerges is a sense of respect, camaraderie and the clear expectation that there is much more to come.

 Minneapolis architects Janis LaDouceur and John Barbour have designed a Hubert Humphrey museum in Waverly, a tugboat museum in Two Harbors, the Richard I. Bong World War II Heritage Center in Superior, Wis. and a viewing building for the International Wolf Center in Ely.
Not all of these designs have been built, but all, LaDouceur said, are like her children -- she has her heart invested in them.

The Lighthouse, Glasgow, Scotland
In November 2003 Glasgow City Council announced that it had selected a design for a new footbridge linking the booming economic area on the north bank of the River Clyde with the soon to be regenerated Tradeston to the south. The Lighthouse facilitates a continuing debate on the Glasgow Bridge through this exhibition, which looks both at the history of bridges on the Clyde and the process by which the new design was selected. Visitors will also be invited to suggest a name for the winning design.

National Building Museum, Washington, D.C.
The new Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles recently opened to great acclaim. An exhibition of 100 black-and- white photographs by Gil Garcetti celebrates the remarkable achievement of the structural ironworkers who assembled the steel frame, and the finish ironworkers who applied the stainless steel skin to the building. On view through August 22.
