CitySpace, an independent interior design company specialising in corporate workplace solutions is coordinating a series of "Workplace Freedom" seminars at the Office Exhibition 2008 from the 4th to the 6th of February, where leading international specialists on workplace-related developments and innovations will be sharing their knowledge and expertise with registered participants.
The seminars are free to make interior designers, architects and other office furniture suppliers as well as employees become aware of the damage a wrong office furniture and lighting can do to their bodies in the long term.
Ergonomics features heavily naturally but the seminars cover a broad spectrum of subjects that are of interest to us as employers and employees.

Within the next 20 years, five billion people-representing 60 percent of the world's population-will reside in cities.
To meet the needs and aspirations of an increasingly urban society, design will play a crucial role in helping to anticipate and create the solutions which will enable these complex systems to function sustainably.
To better understand sustainability and how it relates to design and mobility, Art Center has developed a series of five annual participatory Summits.
This crucial dialogue began with the first Summit, Designing Sustainable Mobility, in February 2007.
The second Summit has an ambitious program.
The Art Center Summit: Systems, Cities & Sustainable Mobility will look at the big picture: the broad systems thinking and systems integration needed to create a better future for society.

We believe that when environment, economics, art, and community are combined in harmony with the dictates of the land and needs of society, extraordinary places result.
These are sustainable places of timeless beauty, substantial value, and enduring quality that lift the spirit.
Design Workshop is dedicated to creating these legacy projects for our clients, for society, and for the well-being of our planet.
Since 1985, Design Workshop has hosted a summer internship program for students of Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Business, Fine Arts and Real Estate.
The internship kicks off on May 28, 2008 with a 10-day intensive charrette in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is followed by a 10-week paid internship in one of our seven offices.
It promises to be a great summer filled with hands-on learning, critical design discussion, and sometimes even a little fun.

How many internationally acclaimed architects does it take to change the face of boutique hotel design? Answer: 19.
It sounds like the punchline to some sort of industry joke, but at the Silken Group's Puerta America Hotel in Madrid the answer is no laughing matter.
Silken's Juan Valls takes up the story: "we initially wanted to call in four or five internationally renowned figures.
Then one thing led to another and the field expanded."
Silken enlisted the likes of Zaha Hadid, Ron Arad, David Chipperfield, Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel and Marc Newson; a dream team made up of the biggest names in design and build - Real Architecture anyone?
The Puerta America's location is either handy for the airport or a suburban enclave on the edge of a busy motorway, depending on your point of view.
The external structure was developed by SGA Studio, headed by Felipe Saez de Gordoa, and is fairly standard airport hotel fare: an unobtrusive rectangular tower block.
