Autodesk Showcases Sustainable Design Technology at 2007 Greenbuild Conference and ExpoAutodesk today announced that it will be a Silver sponsor of the 2007 Greenbuild Conference Expo, Nov. 7-9 at McCormick Place in Chicago, and will host three events for media, customers and attendees.
The Autodesk booth in the expo hall will also be constructed using sustainable materials including chairs made from 98% post recycled airplane aluminum and rubber flooring made from 76% post recycled tires.
This will be Autodesk's third consecutive year as a sponsor and exhibitor at the Greenbuild Expo and the company invites interested media to attend the Autodesk events at this year's show.
At Greenbuild Expo 2006 in Denver, Autodesk announced that it had entered into a strategic relationship with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to expand the use of technology to increase mainstream adoption of sustainable design and green building.
The first result of this relationship is the new Autodesk Sustainable Design Curriculum, developed in consult with the USGBC's Formal Education Committee.
The first version of this curriculum will be unveiled at the USGBC Formal Education Committee's Educator Summit on Nov. 6 which will bring together representatives from Autodesk, members of the USGBC's Formal Education Committee, industry and academic leaders as well as students to discuss best practices to advance sustainable design education and the required skills and knowledge architecture and design students need to succeed in professional practice.
