Soft BoundariesNext week, on Tuesday November 13th at 8pm, the Fall lecture series at Materials & Applications (M&A), "Soft Boundaries" will kick off with a lively discussion led by Mark Allen of Machine Project with other leaders from feral organizations engaged in new social experiments.
All the lectures are in the open-air courtyard under the extreme cantilever of the new architectural / sculptural installation, "Density Fields", by Oyler-Wu Collaborative.
Inspired by the pseudo-private situation of M&A's outdoor exhibition space, and the dissolution of boundaries it connotes, these lectures will organize around discussions of new cultural zones and forms.
Speakers will talk about the blurring and redrawing of conventional boundaries between public and private space, art and architecture, technical and nontechnical practices, social, institutional and commercial concerns.
All lectures are on Tuesday nights starting at 8PM / Gate opens at 7:30pm.
These events are open to everyone. 5$ donation requested at the gate.
The event will be canceled if its raining at 7pm w/o signs of relenting!
