Designs for a City: Birmingham City University at the Interiors Show

The creme de la creme of Birmingham's design community will be showcased at the launch of Design City at Interiors Birmingham on Sunday 20 January 2008.

Organised by CMPi and Birmingham City University, Design City will celebrate the city's vibrant design culture as well as highlighting the range of design expertise in the region as a whole.

Design City will feature a large exhibition showcase at The Interiors Show organised by Birmingham City University in partnership with industry specialists, designers and students.

The work of leading regional designers including Birmingham City University design lecturers Graham Powell, Peter Wardleworth and Marlene Little will be represented within an innovatively designed stand with interactive features including a specially commissioned dance piece from Elmhurst School For Dance which will be performed every lunch time during the 4 day event, Sunday 20 to Wednesday 23 January 2008.

For the first time this year, a Design Pavilion will be installed in Birmingham City Centre within Victoria Square for the duration of the event, showcasing the work of 8 local designers including Scabetti, MRF, Pottinger and Cole, Glass Domain and Guinea Pig Design.

The Design Pavillion will be curated by Stefan Bench of In The Detail, also a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University.
