Holly Kaiser: Birmingham Architect Lives the Green LifeHolly Kaiser planned to pedal extra hard this week in celebration of Earth Day.
The Birmingham architect is living the green life, starting with her studio at 2151 Cole St.
A modified stationary bike in the corner of her office, connected to a generator and battery, can generate enough "human power" to charge her computer and cell phone.
"It produces enough energy to run my computer for 20 hours," said Kaiser, 39.
"My next investment is to install flexible solar screens on the west side of the building that will charge enough batteries to run all the computers in the office."
