Schiffini in ZurichWe first saw them in Milan in April, presented by Schiffini for the first time at Eurocucina 2008: these are the elements of a concept kitchen designed by Alfredo Haberli for the company, with a strong character and a slightly unconventional spirit, evocative and full of symbolic meaning.
Some of them are brand new and unusual, but all are effective in providing an outline of the kitchen as "the soul of the home", in harmony with Schiffini's vision, that sees the kitchen as a kind of convivial laboratory, which is increasing open to other indoor spaces.
You can see these elements once again in the Alfredo Haberli solo exhibition at the Zurich Design Museum.
The exhibition, entitled "Alfredo Haberli Design Development - Surround Things", curated by Haberli himself with Angeli Sachs and Moritz Schmid, will run from 27th June - 21st September 2008 and will trace the development of the famous Argentinean designer through a collection of the most important products and projects.
The exhibition is organised in areas according to theme, one of which will be Haberli's first kitchen design, produced by Schiffini, with a large island in which the various functional areas are illuminated by single spotlights that rise from the surface like large extraterrestrial flowers.
