International Jury Recognizes Excellence in Glass Design With 2004 Solutia Design Awards

For the sixth year, Solutia
Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SOLUQ), honors architects, designers and laminators
for their outstanding architectural and design projects demonstrating
innovative use of the company's Vanceva(TM) and Saflex (R) brand interlayers
for glass. An international jury of nine celebrated industry professionals
reviewed a worldwide portfolio of architectural project submissions, and
awarded four winners and one honorable mention. Entries were judged on:

* Degree of attention paid to safety, structural, security, and/or noise
reduction through the use of laminated glass
* Significance of the design in regards to new and developing
applications of laminated glazing
* The creative use of laminated glass
* Overall aesthetic appeal of the project

Winners spanned the globe and represented architectural and interior work,
as well as an artistic installation.

The International Solutia Design Awards are held annually by Solutia Inc, the world's largest manufacturer of architectural PVB-interlayers for the production of laminated glass. The awards are given to architects and designers whose work focuses on innovative and sophisticated applications of laminated glass.
