Xerox and Magic Mosaics Design Huge Olympics BannerIn support of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, Xerox Corp. and Magic Mosaics of Victoria, B.C., have created a massive six-story banner from the portraits of more than 27,000 Xerox employees from 60 countries around the world. The banner's overall image depicts the message "Welcome Home" in both English and Greek, celebrating the return of the Olympic Games to its historical birthplace. The banner covers nearly three sides of Xerox's office building in central Athens and will remain in place throughout the fall.
The photo mosaic measures 35.05 metres wide by 17.7 metres high. Each of the portraits is more than 27 square inches, and there are no two alike in the entire mosaic.
