We're not to blame, says Holyrood design chiefTHE troubled Holyrood building project was facing the prospect of a fresh crisis last night when a major row broke out between the architects and the parliamentary authorities.
Brian Stewart, the lead architect, has lodged a formal complaint over the way George Reid, the Presiding Officer, imposed a fees cap on all the consultants involved in the scheme in an attempt to halt its spiralling costs.
He has spoken out for the first time in an attempt to counter rumours that the consultants are profiting from the rocketing costs of the project.
"We are not trying to take more out of the project than a modest profit," he said. "It is very frustrating."
