Stantec Expands Design Group by Acquiring Dunlop Architects of TorontoStantec Inc. is expanding its design capabilities with the acquisition of Dunlop Architects of Toronto.
The Edmonton-headquart ered engineering and project management group said Thursday the 100-employee firm will add to its architectural and interior design group and enhance its presence in the Greater Toronto Area. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"We have built a very successful and respected architectural practice in Western Canada," stated Tony Franceschini, president and CEO of Stantec.
"The addition of Dunlop moves us to one of the top architectural firms in the country and increases Stantec's presence in the GTA."
Dunlop Architects, a full-service firm established in 1953, specializes in hospitals, schools and other institutional installations, as well as buildings for the entertainment and technology sectors.
"We're looking forward to joining with Stantec because of the opportunities it will create for our employees and clients," stated Chris Fillingham, the firm's managing principal.
"Our staff will be gaining access to greater technological and financial resources and get the opportunity to work on projects throughout North America while also being able to offer a wider range of services to our clients."
