Sitting Firm: A Piece of English Heritage for Russia‘Sitting Firm’, the Coventry based furniture designers and manufacturers recently enjoyed huge success at Moscow’s 2004 MEBEL exhibition; Russia’s most prestigious furniture show and possibly the largest in Eastern Europe.
Sitting Firm formed part of the BFM (British Furniture Manufacturers) stand at the exhibition which ran from the 16th to the 20th November.
As successful exporters to the US, Far East and Western Europe, Sitting Firm took the decision to attend MEBEL to further research the export market potential of Russia.
Chris Winwood, Sitting Firm’s Marketing Director, commented “Having already done some export business with Russia we felt that we should explore the growing demand for high quality British furniture, since the current trend towards simple classical British designs is shared by large key buying areas such as Moscow, St Petersburg and Ekaterinburg. This represents a huge export potential for our business.”
With current purchasing trends suggesting a shift from Italian and German designed furniture to more quintessential English designs; something for which Sitting Firm could be described as masters of the art of, Sitting Firm were always assured a warm reception.
