Lady Banker Invests In DesignDonalda Daley-Martin is a high-powered investment banker by day while, at home, she's taken her hobby of interior decorating to new heights. In the process of styling her new residence she even studied design via a correspondence course.
Her colourful Long Mountain townhouse gets high marks and enthusiastic exclamations from visitors. Martin laughs that husband Curtis and herself would often see cars "scurrying away" when they came to check on the construction.
Persons were "peeping in", no doubt attracted by the intense colours inside. It was word of mouth, in fact, that landed the Martins' stellar abode in the latest edition of Health, Home and Garden - the Jamaican magazine embracing the genre of home and décor.
A feature on Martin, and other Long Mountain townhouse owners, looks at the innovative ways they have capitalised on their relatively small spaces.
Despite her career in finance, Martin has always loved the creative. Her first degree was in the arts. And when she began to set up her new home she researched design courses on the Internet finding out that the Sheffield School of Interior Design Distance Education was highly regarded.
