A Private Apartment in Paramount Building by AmalgamThe client had purchased a deep plan, shell apartment with one glazed wall but limited light to the sides and rear.
The challenge was to extend the feeling of light and space into the heart of the plan.
The focus of the plan is a circular shower room with the kitchen, living and bedrooms radiating around it.
The shower room walls are etched on both sides, providing diffused light but privacy, the circular shower tray and seat and the substantial kitchen worktop were formed in polished terrazzo emphasizing their sculptural forms.
The apartment was a finalist in the FX design awards and was used as a location for Craig David's first number one DVD "fill me in".
