Da Vinci CollegeDa Vinci College in Dordrechtdesigned by Mecanoo architecten is part of the Dordrecht Learning Park, which includes dwellings, offices, a modern sports complex and various shopping and restaurant facilities, in addition to schools.
The laying of the foundation stone marks the official go-ahead for the construction of the Dordrecht Learning Park, of which the Da Vinci College is a part.
The new Da Vinci College will be completed in May 2007.
The new Da Vinci College consists of ten buildings, each with its own identity.
The small-scale layout ensures that a massive impression is avoided.
There will be an inner street, various courtyards and patios where pupils can sit and study in comfort.
Two of the buildings will have a glass-covered atrium.
The entrance building, housing a conference centre and other facilities, has an undulating facade of coloured glass.
This striking building represents the icon of the Da Vinci College.
