Thom Mayne of Morphosis Public LectureThe Irish Architecture Foundation and Hamilton Osborne King are pleased to announce a public lecture by 2005 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate, Thom Mayne of Morphosis, Santa Monica, California.
The lecture will take place at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Tuesday, January 31st at 7pm.
Tickets are available free of charge to members of the public who make advance reservations through the box office at the National Concert Hall on +353 (0)1 417 0000.
Thom Mayne is this year's winner of the $100,000 Pritzker Prize, architecture's equivalent of the Nobel Prize.
The Pritzker Prize jury said: "The work of Thom Mayne moves architecture from the 20th to the 21st century" and "Every now and then an architect appears on the international scene who teaches us to look at the art of architecture with fresh eyes."
The Irish Architecture Foundation was established last year under the terms of the Government's architectural policy, Action on Architecture, 2002-2005, to increase the understanding and impact of contemporary architecture in Ireland and to excite a wider public to its aesthetic and cultural value.
