Children Design New Open SpacePupils from across London, including a team from Highams Park School, went to Stratford to present their designs for an area of open space in the Stratford City development.
The event, at Stratford Old Town Hall, was called the Construction Enterprise Challenge and was held to generate interest in the engineering and construction industries.
Models and designs were exhibited by ten groups of six pupils aged 13 to 15, who were selected as finalists from the 35 groups who entered the competition.
Each team worked like a construction company to design a company manifesto and research the Stratford City site before finally producing their design.
