The Micro-Compact Home to Appear at Engadinwind 2006 Lake SilvaplanaThe award winning micro-compact home (m-ch), a revolutionary light-weight low energy dwelling, will make the first of a series of appearances in Switzerland this month when erected at Lake Silvaplana as part of the Stimorol Engadinwind 2006.
The m-ch has been developed at the Technical University Munich Institute by Professor Richard Horden and his team of students and assistants.
The same team are working in partnership with the team of Professor Pfammatter on the development of the eventcenter Silvaplana.
The m-ch combines high-tech sophistication with low energy use in a neat space-saving aluminium cube, which touches the earth lightly.
The m-ch first sparked international media interest in November when a case study village of seven units was unveiled for students of the University.
Its resounding success with the students is no surprise.
The m-ch features integrated furniture, sound system, plasma-screen, communication and energy systems, making it the ultimate high-tech crash pad.
