New Gehry Design in Spain OpensSpain's Basque region has unveiled its second work by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, a fanciful display of glimmering and cascading titanium ribbons, housing a hotel at the center of one of the country's oldest wineries.
Canadian architect, Frank O. Gehry, has designed a very interesting building complex for the renowned "Marques de Riscal" brand in the Rioja wine-growing area and comprises of several cuboids which are pushed into one another.
Spread throughout the main and auxiliary buildings are two gourmet restaurants and 43 exclusively furnished suites all of which have been individually designed.
The dominant feature is a bold roof structure with an almost free-floating titanium skin that optically accentuates this most extraordinary construction.
The rosé, silver and gold impregnated plates represent the leaves and branches of a grape-vine.
