The home is the private residence of managing principal Leo Marmol and his wife Alisa Becket, and it combines the efficiency of factory-built construction with the benefits of custom residential design.
The open house allows visitors to explore the growing interest in modern prefab homes by touring a prototype for the new venture Marmol Radziner Prefab.
The last open house drew over 4,000 visitors from around the state and country.
The Desert House is a 2,100 sq.-ft. custom recycled steel-frame residence that was prefabricated in a factory and installed on site.
It features floor-to-ceiling windows, custom teak cabinets, and a gourmet kitchen.
The house doubles its size with an additional 2,450 square feet of outdoor living spaces, which overlook a pool, fire pit, and unparalleled vistas of the San Jacinto Mountains.
The north wing of the house also includes guest quarters and studio space.
As part of the green design of the Desert House, solar panels supply all electrical power to the home.
The Desert House is an example of Marmol Radziner Prefab's custom floor plans and details designed and fabricated to match specific site and client needs.
