David Gill Galleries announced an exhibition of new work by Mattia Bonetti at 3 Loughborough Street London SE11 5RB, 14 May to 14 June, 2008.
Mattia Bonetti was one of the first artists to work with David Gill when he established his gallery in Fulham Road in 1987.
Now, Bonetti is set to have a solo show at David Gill's primary space in Loughborough Street, which opened in 1999.
Ten new designs will include the Happy Birthday cabinet, a large-scale piece which, with its aluminium leaf and varnish exterior is a triumph of fine skills.
A book dedicated to this piece will be published jointly by David Gill Galleries and Bernard Chaveau Editeur, Paris.
Yo Yo table, another new piece from Bonetti, is made in polished aluminium, with one part seeming to float above the other.
A restrained and intentionally simple piece, its beauty lies in the absolute perfection of its production.
The resulting piece is quite literally flawless.

Friedman Benda gallery presents Archetypes, the second in a cycle of exhibitions devoted to the investigation of the limited edition and rare work of Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) in all its complexity and historical relevance.
Archetypes features glass, marble, and furniture made from 1965-1995.
Many of the works will be on view for the first time outside European Museums, and many have never been seen in a commercial context before.
The exhibition will be on view May 1 - June 21st at Friedman Benda, 515 West 26th Street, NYC.
This exhibition will reflect Sottsass' broad-based investigation of the essential attributes, or archetypal forms, patterns and structures that convey universal ideas and explore the rituals of daily life.
This quest underlies the myriad of domestic objects, volumes of photography, and architectural projects Sottsass created throughout his extensive working life.

In your Dreams is an APG showcase for creative responses to the thought that our dreams are often at the center of creative inspiration and deep personal insight.
APG and their guest juror Naomi Silva looked for images that spoke without fear to the creative subconscious and revealed the mysteries that we all have hidden in our dreams.
The resulting body of work on the APG wall, selected by Naomi Silva, is a diverse collection that showcases many mixed media and photographic interpretations of the inner psyche through lyrical, abstract, and even classic techniques.
