 A man whose artwork is made from dust collected near Ground Zero in New York has become the first winner of a £40,000 award for visual artists.
Xu Bing clinched the Artes Mundi (Arts of the World) Prize for the specially-commissi oned piece.
He was one of 10 finalists for the award, which aims to establish Wales as a pioneer in the support of the arts.
Bing, who is from China but now lives and works in America, was presented with the award on Sunday evening.
His installation, "Where does the dust collect itself?" was especially made for the Artes Mundi Prize contest.
He covered the museum's floor with the dust he had collected from the 11 September 2001 terror attacks in New York.

 A sculpture sending a shaft of light 3,000 feet (915 metres) into the sky is to be built at BBC offices in London.
The sculpture by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, named Breathing, will be placed above Broadcasting House in memory of journalists who died during their work.
The glass and steel sculpture will consist of a 33-ft (10-metre) inverted spire, etched with a poem.
It will be in place by 2005, forming part of a public art programme tied in to the building's redevelopment.
John Smith, the BBC's director of property, said it was an "exceptional" piece of public art which he hoped would become a landmark on the London skyline.

The first major exhibition of legendary director Stanley Kubrick's film props, possessions and memorabilia is being held in Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
When Kubrick died in 1999, shortly before the release of his last film, rumours abounded about his compulsive obsessiveness and predilection for reclusion.
There were many myths about the man, but little was known about the methods he used to conjure masterpieces such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Dr Strangelove.
The exhibition, put together with the help of Kubrick's widow Christiane (herself German) and his long-standing executive producer Jan Harlan seeks to remedy that.

 Legendary Swedish movie director Ingmar Bergman, known for his gloomy works, has admitted he cannot watch his films because they make him depressed.
"I don't watch my own films very often. I become so jittery and ready to cry... and miserable. I think it's awful," he said in a rare interview on Swedish TV.
Bergman, 85, is considered one of the most influential directors in history.
His 60-year career has spanned intense classics like Cries & Whispers, The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries.
He has been nominated for nine Oscars himself, while his films have won Oscars won best foreign film three times.

 Mel Gibson's controversial religious blockbuster The Passion of the Christ has broken box office records on its first day on release in Italy.
The film took 1.22m euros (£804,000), beating the record held by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King which took 1.11m euros (£732,000) in a day.
It is on general release in Italy, with no age restrictions.
The film has taken over £5.5m in the UK since it was released on 26 March, and has been a big hit in other countries.
It opened on 700 screens across Italy, including several in the southern town of Matera, where much of the filming took place. In many cinemas, tickets sold out within hours of going on sale.
