The UK's tallest sculpture arrived in Manchester on Sunday.
The central core of the B of the Bang arrived at the City of Manchester Stadium, where it will commemorate the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
When completed, the 150 tonne steel sculpture will stand 56m tall and lean at an angle of 30 degrees.
It will be taller than the Angel of the North, in Gateshead, and lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, in Italy.
The sculpture was named after British sprinter Linford Christie's famous saying: "I'll be gone by the B of the Bang."
It is made of 180 spikes meeting at the central core and was commissioned by urban regeneration company New East Manchester Limited to mark the Commonwealth Games.
Designed by Thomas Heatherwick Studios in London and built in Sheffield, it is due to be completed by September.

Hurley, a Rockland District High School senior, has been working hard for the last four years nailing down the basics: math, English, science and social studies. She has also been taking art courses - a whole lot of art courses.
"I feel really well prepared," Hurley said, describing the many hands-on projects she has completed during her classes at RDHS and Mid-Coast School of Technology. "I talked with the art director at Old Dominion for almost an hour, and he was really impressed with how much experience I had from high school."
Hurley will be heading south to Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. in the fall to pursue a four-year degree in graphic design and marketing. With three semesters of graphic design at MCST under her belt, she is looking forward to the new challenges of her college program, confident that her hard work here in Rockland will pay off.
Hurley, who aggressively pursued every artistic opportunity that came her way during high school, has built an impressive portfolio of freehand and computer-generated art. She found her calling in graphic design, learning to combine her artistic talents with new technology to create unique images for products, galleries and websites. She has done everything from redesigning soup can logos to creating websites, and displayed her work at Julia's Art Gallery in Rockland.
