The Art Images Gallery Adelaide, South Australia presents "Anguish", a solo exhibition of new works by celebrated Australian artist, Nevin Hirik, 1 June to 24 June 2007.
"For Nevin, the female figure represents the focal point of the environment created around it.
Her female figures are gentle, airily translucent and emotional.
The figures are striped back from the human to the energy of a soul.
That soul orchestrates a mood, which dictates the observer's response to the image in view.
The female image is almost calligraphic, and this creates the composition of the total painting.
If emotion can be translated pictorially, Nevin found the language and the key to ignite the viewer's psyche." Rimona Kedem 2007

Sail design is where art meets craft.
Teams invest endless time and effort in refining the high-tech sails that power a racing yacht.
In a tribute to the unique quality of these technical masterpieces at the 32nd America's Cup, 32 sections of an original, race-proven mainsail from BMW ORACLE Racing yacht USA 87 have been handselected and frame-mounted.
The outcome is a limited series of exclusive canvases - 3 in a large format, 29 in a smaller format.
These priceless mementos of the Louis Vuitton and the America's Cup can now be acquired at auction.
Every canvas bears a plate signed by a member of the BMW ORACLE Racing afterguard and an indication of the original position of the material on the mainsail.

Sculpture Transformed: The Work of Marjorie Schick is on view June 29 through September 9, 2007 at the San Francisco Museum of Craft+Design, 550 Sutter Street in San Francisco.
For decades, Marjorie Schick has been a pioneering force in the craft field.
Her vibrant, energetic pieces break through traditional barriers of form, texture, and color while sparking the human imagination.
Schick is best known for her brilliantly colored wearable art constructions using non-traditional materials.
Often inspired by ornamentation and costumes from other cultures, Schick has explained her work as "a sculptural statement that is complete when off the human body, yet is constructed and exists because of the human body."
Sculpture Transformed incorporates 67 objects that exemplify 40 years of Schick's experimentation with form, texture, and color.
Her "body sculptures" are most often large-scale head ornaments, massive ceremonial collars, cloaks, and back sculptures that seem to soar from the wearer.
The exhibition highlights these acclaimed "body sculptures," while taking the viewer on a voyage through the visual evolution of Schick's style.
