 Zoovilization is the exhibition project developed by Vasava Artworks for the Showcase Project of MUSAC.
It deals with a work that recuperates the aesthetic and conceptual spirit of the Baroque Period in a formal, complex web (a horror vacui taken from the work of El Bosco, and in particular, El jardín de las delicias with a schematic composition related directly to it) that allows different levels of reading, supported by an elaborate structure of symbolic content.
These symbols make reference to different aspects of contemporary society and culture (war conflicts, emigrations, technological advances), all of them imbued in a naďf and fun aesthetic, with comic and advertising influences, but that allow a glimpse into a more transcendental content.
The formal composition of the work is the result of a structure built on the traditional confrontation of contraries, and on a semantic level can be interpreted in different levels of reading.
On a horizontal level, both showcases represent the tension West vs. East.
On a vertical level, the work echoes the Christian vision that divides the world between Heaven and Earth which, in contemporary language, represents the concepts of North and South that divides the international panorama.

 World Press Photo 05, the acclaimed exhibition of more than 200 award-winning works of international photojournalism will be presented by the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California from January 9-30, 2006.
A press conference will open the exhibition at 11:30 am on Monday, January 9, 2006 in the East Lobby of the USC Annenberg School, 3502 Watt Way, Los Angeles. A public reception follows.
World Press Photo is the world's largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest. USC Annenberg is the only U.S. venue outside the United Nations in New York to host the traveling exhibition.
The school also was selected as a site for last year's exhibition.
"It's an honor to hold the World Press Photo exhibition at USC Annenberg again this year," said Geoffrey Cowan, USC Annenberg dean and former director of the Voice of America.
"World Press Photo not only represents the best in photojournalism, but it also can be seen as a historical document of the world's major events of the year."

 In the past decade Thomas Hirschhorn has emerged as one of the most provocative, ambitious, and inventive figures in contemporary art.

Influenced by his background in graphic design, Hirschhorn deliberately situates his art as a kind of communication between diverse communities, belief systems, and aesthetic strategies.
The leaping-off point for Utopia, Utopia is the prevalence of camouflage in contemporary culture and politics--as a style of dress on the streets of SoHo and as an emblem of battle in the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Hirschhorn takes these conflicting connotations and extends the use of camouflage to its most extreme, absurd conclusion.

 Swarm brings together works that express swarming as a social effect generated by masses of objects, images, data, or organisms.
The fascination with swarming reflects a contemporary view of nature, politics, and social life-one that favors unplanned and decentralized modes of organization.
