Night Aerial Photography for HSBCAerial photographer Jason Hawkes has recently completed a night photography shoot over London for HSBC.
"Shooting at night from a helicopter can cause all sorts of problems" says Jason, "not only do you have the usual exposure problems but in order to compensate of the long shutter speeds you must shoot using a gyrostabilizingmount".
With the cost of twin engined helicopters over the city costing 900 per hour there was no room for mistakes.
"We shot with a range of digitalcameras alltethered to a laptop so we could view the images as we shot, the door of the helicopter is taken off and I lean out of the machine wearing a harness for safety and a pair of headphones to direct the pilot" said Jason.
Next up for Jason are two new books of aerial views one of London and the other of the UK, soon to be published by the AA.
