2002 Whitney Biennial - Online ExhibitionWelcome to the online 2002 Biennial Exhibition, which was on view at the Whitney Museum of American Art from March 7 through May 26, 2002. A panorama of contemporary American art and the Whitney museum's signature exhibition, the Whitney Biennial is a mirror of our culture and of who we are now. Lawrence Rinder, the Whitney's curator of contemporary art, organized the Biennial together with curatorial colleagues Chrissie Iles, Christiane Paul and Debra Singer.
This exhibition presented the work of 113 artists and collaborative teams, including gallery works, sound and performance, film and video, and net artists. The online exhibition features examples from all of the work in the exhibition, as well as 80 audio interviews with the artists.
