What is Design Turkey-Interior Design Awards?
Design Turkey-IDA is Turkey's first interior design award. The contest and rewarding process that will be organized under the leadership of the AD art + decor magazine will be finalized with a gala appealing to the interior design industry members.
In which categories can the applications to the contest be made?
Design Turkey-IDA has five categories:
1. Office Design
2. Social Events Places (Hotels, Bars/Restaurants, Movie Theatres/Theatre-Opera Houses, Sports Clubs/Spa/Hair-Dressers)
3. Public Places (Museums, Fairs, Transportation Terminals - Airports, Bus Terminals, Yachting Marinas, Train Stations -, Schools, Hospitals)
4. Shopping Places (Shops/Showrooms, Shopping Malls, Markets)
5. Residence (Apartments, Detached Houses)
Who can participate in the contest?
Design Turkey-IDA is open to interior designers, interior architects and architects provided that the applicants apply with projects that were implemented in the last three years (1 January 2002- 31 December 2004).
Why participate in the contest?
Design Turkey-IDA, which aims to reach an international scope, will represent a serious and respectable award for the original works in the face of the public for both the industry as whole and individual designers. The works and awards will be evaluated by a jury comprised of the prominent names in the interior design industry and the results will be announced to the public with a gala-exhibition.
Award-winners and finalists and their works will find extensive coverage mainly in AD art+decor magazine, the websites ( http://www.artdecor.com.tr , http://www.design-turkey.com ) and other DBR group magazines, and in all other sector publications, newspapers' design appendices and also TV shows.
What does the jury look for in the applications?
Design Turkey- IDA is basically devoted to supporting creativity and originality. The jury members' evaluation criteria for the applicant projects are :
- Original ideas,
- Usage of innovative techniques and materials in design and implementation,
- Feasibility with respect to the success and objectives of the design solutions
- Innovative solutions offered to eliminate the problems in the places where the project is implemented.
How to apply?
Those who wish to apply for the award must send their project in CD format together with the fully completed and personally signed application form to the below address.
The application form is posted at AD art+decor magazine's March 2005 issue and at http://www.artdecor.com.tr
In all application types, it is stipulated that a text containing the information about the project concept as well as all the project drafts and visual materials for every phase of the implementation is included in the application. The applicants must send at least 6 visual project materials in JPG or TIFF file format and in at least 300 dpi resolutions.
The applicants may apply for more than one category.
The projects will be accepted during the period between 1 March 2005 and 31 April 2005.
