Materialica Design Award 2005
For the third time, Materialica, the international trade fair for materials applications, surface technology and processes (20th to 22nd September 2005), will present the Materialica Design Award from MunichExpo GmbH. This is now part of a co-operation with the Design Zentrum München (Munich Design Centre).
Innovative materials applications and creative material combinations are the primary conditions necessary for product development. Only successful combinations of innovative materials, technological precision and challenging design requirements allow user-friendly development of industrial and consumer products. For a long time now, the material has not been just the basis of the product, but also transmits functional, aesthetic and sensory qualities.
At the core of the Materialica Design Award are the design-orientated application of materials and the successful combination of technical innovation and design quality.
Surpass existing boundaries of materials applications, present new application opportunities, combines the traditional with the innovative, travel new paths in combining material and design to present the relevance of materials for a design-orientated application: these are the aims of the Materialica Design Award, which has been tendered annually since 2003.
The award winners will be presented at the Materialica Design Show.
