2007 Memento Australia Awards
The hunt is on for Australia's best memento ... a memento that sets new standards of innovation, quality and originality. It's not the "I've been to Australia t-shirt made in China" nor a "Cling on Koala". So what is it ...?
The Memento Australia Awards are offering some $30,000 worth of prizes and the opportunity to share in a tourism gift market worth over $700 million per annum for the best mementos of 2007.
With a deadline of 31 July 2007 entrants are going to have to get their creative juices flowing fast to take advantage of this opportunity.
"Travelers domestic and international are seeking authentic experiences that incorporate the culture or lifestyle of a destination, and this extends to the mementos they take home with them. The Memento Australia Awards seek to reward and promote the best of these mementos and bring them to the attention of buyers" said Anthony, Manager of Memento Australia.
Previous winners have gone on to secure lucrative orders and sales internationally. This year's winning entrants will also have the opportunity to have their product included in a national touring exhibition which features a selection of the best mementos from the last 8 years award programs.
The prestigious Memento Australia Awards are a world first and the only awards to recognise the ingenuity and innovation of travelers gifts. Awards categories include prizes for emerging designers, retail mementos, designer mementos as well as authentic Indigenous mementos.
The judging panel will be looking for fresh original concepts and designs that are inspired by Australia's urban myths, lifestyle, cuisine, personalities, history, architecture or even regional icons.
