12th Bradford Animation Festival
BAF is the UK's biggest and best-loved annual animation festival. Host to masterclasses, seminars, workshops, screenings and special events led by some of the animation industry's top names, the festival's high point is the annual BAF Awards, which celebrate the very best in new animation from around the world. BAF is a project of the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television. The following categories are available for submission to the competition this year: Non-professional: Films made by animators / animation teams whose primary source of income is not animation, or who are training to become animators. Students in further and higher education are eligible. Professional: Only suitable for animators / animation teams whose primary source of income is animation. Entrants to the Professional category should include a CV with their submission which details professional experience. Promotional / commercial: Designed specifically for films made to sell products - for instance, the advertising or music industries. TV series: Designed for single episodes of series made for television. Only one episode should be submitted in the first instance, but if your film is shortlisted, we will ask you to submit an additional two episodes of the same series for consideration by the competition jury. NB: this category is open to TV series aimed at child and adult markets. Films for children: Films made specifically for a target audience of people under 16, whether as a 'special' for television or designed specifically for theatrical release. Web animation: All films designed to be viewed and/or distributed via the internet, by both professional and non-professional animators.
