Summer Semi-Annual Design Contest
1 - Participation and Eligibility Graphic and web designers, students, freelancers, firms, publishers, agencies and corporate art departments from around the world who have created original design pieces within the past 5 years for self-promotion, or for legitimate, paying clients are eligible.
2 - Categories Logo Catalog Corporate Identity Annual Report Web Site Advertising Flash Animation Mailer / Flyer / Postcard Print / Magazine / Book Self Promotion / Marketing Kit Poster Packaging Art Brochure CD ROM
3 - Prizes Prizes differ from event to event, depending on who our sponsor are that year. However, all winning entries will receive a personalized glass plaque or certificate from American Design Awards. Additional or duplicate plaques or certificates are available for purchase after winning announcements.
4 - Deadline Deadline for submitting design pieces for the Summer Semi-Annual Design Contest is set for August 1st with a grace period extending until August 15th. Entries postmarked after August 15th will be disqualified.
5 - Winning Notification Winners will be notified via email or regular mail approximately 30 days after the close of the event, and listed on the appropriate winners page.
6 - Fees The fees are broken down into "Student / Freelancer" and "Professional / Firm / Corporation" with a discount given to international participants. Domestic rates are for entries originating from the United States of America and Canada, regardless of where the client resides or does business in. The international rates are for entries originating from any country except for the Unites States of America and Canada. All fees must be payable in United States Dollar currency and made payable to American Design Awards through a Cashier's Check, Money Order, Company Check or Personal Check. 7 - Property and Formats All entries must be original creations or property of the designer, design firm or company submitting the design piece.
Logo Illustrator EPS and/or high quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) AND color printout (minimum size 5 x 5 inches.)
Corporate Identity Illustrator EPS and/or high quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) AND original printed business card, letterhead, and envelope (plus any additional applicable pieces.)
Web Design Valid URL AND CD ROM for offline browsing. If the site is dynamic, please include URL only on entry form.
Flash Animation CD ROM for offline browsing.
Print / Magazine / Books Original printed piece.
Poster Illustrator EPS or high quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) AND original printed piece.
Brochure Original printed piece AND Illustrator EPS or high Quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) image of the cover.
Catalog Original printed piece AND Illustrator EPS or high Quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) image of the cover.
Annual Report Original printed piece AND Illustrator EPS or high Quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) image of the cover.
Advertising Illustrator EPS and/or high quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) AND original piece (if applicable). For online ads, remit only CD ROM for offline browsing.
Mailer / Postcard Illustrator EPS or high quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) AND original printed piece.
Self Promotion Original printed piece / package.
Packaging Art 3-D rendition in Illustrator EPS or high quality JPEG (150 DPI or higher) AND original piece.
CD ROM CD ROM.
Note: Please provide all electronic version(s) of the submitted artwork on a CD ROM, executable by a PC-based platform, labeled with your name (or company name).
8 - PROCEDURE 1. Use Adobe Acrobat to fill out the PDF entry form (you may also print the form and complete it by hand). 2. Organize and gather necessary original artwork and/or electronic files and attach appropriate entry forms. 3. Prepare a Cashier's Check, Money Order, Company Check or Personal Check payable to American Design Awards. For multiple entries please fill out a separate form for each item you are submitting. However, you may send one payment for the sum of all your entries. 4. Mail all necessary items via regular mail (No FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. accepted) to:

Once downloaded, print it on your home or office printer, and complete it legibly and accurately.
Contestants grant the American Design Awards the right to display the winning artwork on its web site or winners pages for informational or promotional purposes.
The American Design Awards reserve the right to refuse service, or present awards to any individual or company, whose artwork does not fall within the ethical guidelines set forth in this document, whether before, during or after the judging is complete. Prizes can change without notice, depending on changes in sponsorship or availability. The American Design Awards shall not be held accountable or responsible for any lost or stolen awards, certificates or entries, as well as any disputes or claims brought forth by any contestant towards the American Design Awards, its officers, judges or clients, for any matter relating to copyright issues, entries, winnings, awards, judging, or lost or misplaced artwork or prizes. Fees are non-refundable once the entry has been submitted for any reason.
