Arquitectum The Global House 2005 Contest

Arquitectum has selected one of the most interesting and recurring themes in architecture, housing, in order to collect the best ideas regarding the new ways of habitation in the so-called "Global Village" of the XXI century.
This is why we are pleased to invite all Students and Graduates in architecture from around the world to participate in the Idea Contest "GLOBAL HOUSE - 2005" in order to present proposals, from their own point of view, as to which is the House that best represents the values of contemporary global society.
Arquitectum initiative to create this idea contest stems from the desire to renovate the concept of Housing, letting young architects be the ones who talk, through their own experience, about the social, physical, technological and aesthetic changes that they have experienced and that the new global society is experiencing.
Competition Objectives The following are the objectives of the "The Global House 2005" contest:
- Make a worldwide Architectural Ideas Summons which will help to select the 12 most original, creative and contemporary proposals for a new type of Housing for the new Global village.
- Rescue the spirit of a global urban culture through the analysis of the more representative aspects of the selected contemporary city.
- Attract the interest of specialized critics on a worldwide level regarding new proposals and architectural ideas of those who will become the new generation of architects.
Deadlines All proposals must arrive - via email and physically - by October 15th of 2005, at the offices of ARQUITECTUM , located at Jr. José del Llano y Zapata 173- oficina 1- San Isidro, Lima, Perú.
Selection Criteria Selection criteria for the evaluation of the proposals will be::
- 1st .- Contributions regarding architectural spatiality of the project.
- 2nd .- Contributions regarding function, use and research according to programmatic experimentation.
- 3rd .- Contributions regarding the relationship with the specific cultural context.
Awards Awards given will be three first prizes
- US $ 2,000 for first place - US $ 1,000 for second place - US $ 500 for third place
and nine honorable mentions in the following categories:
