International Design Competition Osaka 2005
The Competition has the aim of creating even more opportunities for business talks between designers and the industrial communities and developping systems to investigate the commercialization of entered works.
The main theme for this edition is: Energy [Sustainable and Enjoyable Life]
There are three sub-themes:
Sub-theme 1: Livingware Sub-theme 2: Living Atmosphere Sub-theme 3: Living Environment
Schedule Oct. 1: Begin accepting entries Oct. 31: Deadline for entries Late November: Preliminary screening Early December: Informal announcement of the entered works nominated for the final review 2006: Late February: Final review and announcement of prize winners (via e-mail) The results of screening are announced on JDF's website, as well. Prizes Total Money Prize amounts to US$ 34,000 and will be shared among six winners: One Grand Prize (Prime Minister's Prize): US$ 15,000 One Gold Prize (Minister of Economy, Trade Industry Prize): US$ 10,000 One Silver Prize (Governor of Osaka Prefecture Prize): US$ 3,000 One Silver Prize (Mayor of Osaka Prize): US$ 3,000 Two Bronze Prize (Chairman of Japan Design Foundation Prize): US$ 1,500 The award ceremony will be held in Osaka in the latter half of February 2006 How to Enter Applications can only be made at the relevant page of the JDF's website, only from 1st to 31th of October 2005.
