Cityscape Architectural Review Awards 2005
Cityscape and the internationally acclaimed publication, Architectural Review, have teamed up for the second year to organise the Cityscape Architectural Review Awards (CARA) - "Design For An Emerging World". Our mission is to recognise and promote excellence in architecture and design from the Middle East, Africa, Central & Eastern Asia, Australasia (excluding Japan), and South America.
Congratulations to the following short-listed projects! Five internationally acclaimed judges flew into Dubai on the 22nd August to judge 260 awards submissions. In each category, built and future projects, a short-list was selected including the winner. Overall the jury was looking for buildings and designs that show respect for people and the planet.

THE AWARDS EVENING
The Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai will host the prestigious awards ceremony on the 17th September 2005 from 19.30pm onwards. A cocktail reception will precede the awards ceremony, which will be followed by a sumptuous Gala dinner and entertainment into the early hours.

THE JURY

The jury will meet in Dubai mid-August to draw up a shortlist. All short listed candidates will be notified in advance. Winners to be announced at the Cityscape Architectural Awards Gala Dinner, Jumeirah Beach Hotel on the 17th September 2005.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Entries will be separated into Built (those already complete) and Future Projects (those incomplete or still on the drawing board), and judged on:
- Contribution to world architectural culture - Invention and imagination - Respect for people, the planet, and context - Environmental awareness - Appropriateness
