Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Awards 2006
Deadline : October 14, 2005
Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation (EDFF) Announces 2006 Competition Italian Wines to Award $150,000 to Emerging Fashion Designers

The search is on for the next best and brightest fashion stars as the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation (EDFF) launches its fifth annual competition, where six promising fashion designers could win the extraordinary opportunity to showcase their collection at New York's fall fashion week. The EDFF award comes with a generous grant of $25,000 to produce an unforgettable show, and has helped launch careers of some of today's hottest designers including Zac Posen, Peter Som, Proenza Schouler, Doo.Ri, and Jeffrey Chow.
"I am honored and grateful to have won the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award. To show my work at New York Fashion Week was an opportunity I've always hoped for, and it would not have been possible without the help of EDFF," said Jasmin Shokrian, 2005 EDFF winner. "The response to my work has been invaluable. I'm proud to be apart of a history of interesting young designers, all of whom I respect and admire," she continued.
The fifth anniversary of EDFF marks a major milestone for a program that has given more than 20 talented designers a launch pad to build successful careers in fashion. "As an EDFF judge for the past five years, I truly believe we have raised the bar in recognizing new design talent. Our winners have already proven themselves worthy, winning awards from the CFDA and Fashion Group International. I look forward to evaluating this year's contestants," said Marylou Luther, Editor of The International Fashion Syndicate.
The rigorous judging process is administered by an esteemed panel of judges in both the women's and men's categories. The selections committee for womenswear includes Marylou Luther (Editor of The International Fashion Syndicate), Sally Singer (Fashion News/Features Director at Vogue), Kim Hastreiter (Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Paper), Joan Kaner (Senior Vice President and Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus), Julie Gilhart (Vice President of Fashion Merchandising at Barney's), and Ruth Finley (Publisher of The Fashion Calendar). The selections committee for menswear includes Michael Bastian (Fashion Director for Men's Store at Bergdorf Goodman), Jay Bell (buyer for Menswear Designs at Barneys New York), and Madeline Weeks (Fashion Director at GQ).
