Exhibit Design Awards Accepting Entries
EXHIBITOR Magazine's 20th Annual Exhibit Design Awards, honoring the world's best trade show exhibit designs, is accepting entries. Trade show exhibit designs launched between Dec. 1, 2003, and Dec. 1, 2005, may be entered in these categories (see eligibility-date exceptions below):
- 20 Years of Exhibit Design (NEW!) - The best trade show exhibit designs from the past 20 years. Projects launched between Dec. 1, 1985, and Dec. 1, 2005, are eligible. Multiple winners will be selected. - Design Consistency (NEW!) - A long-term history of design excellence, developed through an ongoing relationship between a corporate exhibitor and design firm over a 10-year period. Projects debuting between Dec. 1, 1985, and Dec. 1, 2005, are eligible. - Design Concept (NEW!) - Exhibit designs that have been put to paper but never fabricated. There are no eligibility dates for this category. - Single Element (NEW!) - One innovative element of an exhibit - such as a stairway, lounge, reception desk, product display, light fixture, seating ensemble, presentation stage, entranceway, kiosk, conference room, flooring, ceiling, wall, etc. - Small Budgets and Small Spaces (NEW!) - Custom exhibits measuring 10-by-10 or 10-by-20 feet with a budget of $15,000 or less. - Island - Less than $150 per square foot - In-line - Island - More than $150 per square foot - First-time Exhibitor - Peninsula - Less than $150 per square foot - Before and After (Exhibit Refurb) - Peninsula - More than $150 per square foot - Self-Promotion - Double-Deck - Less than $150 per square foot - International Designer - Double-Deck - More than $150 per square foot - International Exhibit
The 2006 competition will be judged by some of the most well-known designers in the world, including: - Jonathan Alger, principal, C&G Partners, New York - Christopher C. Deam, principal, CCD, San Francisco - Kit Hinrichs, partner, Pentagram, San Francisco - Jennifer Morla, president and creative director, Morla Design, San Francisco - Marty Neumeier, president, Neutron LLC, San Francisco - Deborah Sussman, principal and founder, Sussmann/Prejza & Co. Inc., Culver City, CA - Michael Vanderbyl, principal, Vanderbyl Design, San Francisco - Massimo Vignelli, co-founder and president, Vignelli Associates, and CEO, Vignelli Designs, New York
The 2006 competition will offer one EDGE Award (for Exhibit Design and Graphic Excellence) and multiple Gold, Silver, and Special Merit Awards. Winners will be featured in the May issue of EXHIBITOR magazine, read by 30,000 marketing professionals in the trade show, corporate event, and meetings industries. The early-bird, discounted deadline is Dec. 1, 2005. The regular deadline is Dec. 15, 2005.
To commemorate the 20th Anniversary, EXHIBITOR also is posting photos of 20 winners - one from each year of the competition - and asking readers and supporters to vote for their favorites.
