As the first category of the renowned red dot design award, the red dot award: design concept is organised in Singapore, since growth in Asia is very fast and Singapore, as a geographical, economic and cultural centre in Asia, is the ideal location for a competition that evaluates visionary design ideas and innovative concepts. The competition assesses truly creative performances and thus pays tribute to the high potential of young, up-and-coming creative talents, designers and design manufacturers around the world. It provides a great chance to submit design concepts that are not constrained by market demands, client requirements or the ability to be manufactured. The red dot award: design concept provides the important link between creative designers and companies. It offers talented designers from around the world the chance to present their creative visions, to compete on an international level and to distinguish themselves by receiving an award for their talent and high potential in innovation. Winning the "red dot" seal of quality for outstanding design quality and creative achievements, means to stand out in the mass of thousands of competitors, and thus to attract company and industry attention.
International Jury
Your concepts and visionary ideas can become our future - submit them to the red dot award: design concept! An international jury is the guarantee of both top-level expertise and absolute impartiality. The jury of this year's red dot award: design concept is made up of Werner Aisslinger, Germany; Tapani Hyvönen, Finland; Chul-ho Kim, Korea; Suwan Kongkhunthian, Thailand; Song Kee Hoong, Singapore as well as Professor Ron A. Nabarro, Israel.
The highlight of the competition will be the awards ceremony gala evening in Singapore on 24 November 2006. Also on the same evening, the exhibition of all prize-winning concepts by the winners of the competition will be opened in the red dot design museum in Singapore.
