YKK ITS Accessories: The New Challenge for Creativity

"YKK. Little parts. Big difference." When details make the difference they become the focal point of a competition dedicated to fashion and accessories design students from all over the world. For the second time YKK joins forces with ITS(International Talent Support), an annual event that provides a platform for fashion & design students and graduates from all over the world to show their creativity. In the last edition, Demna Gvasalia, the winner of ITS#THREE, expressed his creativity in an outfit made entirely out of YKK fastening products. This special project with YKK was presented during the finale in Trieste, demonstrating how a simple fastening product like the zip has the power to become a "key detail" for discovering new talent
This Year YKK Makes a Further Step YKK repeats the experiment: placing its products in the hands of young creatives' in order for them to realize their own creations. ITS#ACCESSORIES will ask the designers to create an accessory with YKK fastening products. Enter ITS#FIVE, the debut of ITS#ACCESSORIES: The first contest in the world entirely dedicated to accessories created with YKK.
From Innovative Products Come Innovative Creations YKK will provide the schools involved in the contest with a special ITS# ACCESSORIES Award Box. Inside there are zips and fastening products taken from all over the YKK world. They are be used to create accessories that will be judged by the ITS#FIVE jury during the finale in Trieste. This year Kei Kagami, the Japanese fashion designer launched and supported by YKK for many years, will be part of the jury.
The total prize of ITS#ACCESSORIES amounts to 20.000 € and will be divided into two awards: Accessories Collection of the Year - 10.000 € - and YKK Accessory Award - 10.000 € - the winner of this award will also be the protagonist of the YKK 2006-2007 advertising campaign.
YKK is not new to supporting and promoting fashion talents. All over the globe YKK is helping young people to interpret fastening technology in an original way. The designer's creations that will be presented during the three days of the finale in Trieste will show the real potential of YKK products and demonstrate that technology does not exclude creativity.
YKK, once again, gives an opportunity to the next generation of fashion designers, to express their soul and talent, to discover new ways to interpret and create the fashion world of tomorrow. If a "creative" has an idea, YKK can help make it real...
