The Fourth Annual UniKeep Design Awards
UniKeep LLC, manufacturer of the award winning View Case Binder, is pleased to announce the "Fourth Annual UniKeep Design Awards Contest," beginning January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007.
The contest is designed for creative users of UniKeep's View Case Binders to showcase cover designs and organizing solutions with an opportunity to win cash and prizes.
"We are thrilled to have Scrapbooking & Beyond and Creative TECHniques sponsor the contest and are delighted that Jane Guthrie, Natalie Rhinesmith and Judi Kauffman will be judges. With the addition of the new Mini View Case Binder to design for, we're certain to have highly creative entries for the contest!" said Ross Youngs, CEO of UniKeep and inventor of the UniKeep binder. "Check our website for past winners, they were so creative in the ways they used UniKeep binders for storage, organization and presentation."
New for the 2007 contest is a challenge to design for the newly launched UniKeep Mini View Case Binder. The mini binders are sized to hold either 5.5 x 8.5 or A5 pages which makes them ideal for planners, journals, manuals and albums.
UniKeep is proud to announce both Scrapbooking & Beyond and Creative TECHniques magazines as the sponsors for the contest. Scrapbooking & Beyond is the first complete "how-to" scrapbook magazine on the market. Creative TECHniques, is the first magazine for the digital generation of crafter. Both are published by All American Crafts with dedicated editorial staffs of artists and writers.
Judges for the UniKeep Design Awards are Jane Guthrie, Editor of Scrapbooking & Beyond Magazine, Natalie Rhinesmith, Editor of Creative TECHniques Magazine and Judi Kauffman, nationally-known designer, writer, and teacher. The judges had the following remarks about the contest:
"Scrapbooking & Beyond is pleased to sponsor the contest. UniKeep's unique collection of binders demonstrates both artistic and useful innovation in preserving treasured layouts. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the first seed of creative expression reach fruition," said Jane Guthrie.
Natalie Rhinesmith said, "I'm proud to be a first-time judge for UniKeep's contest. It's a great way to stretch the creative imaginations of crafters, scrapbookers, really anyone."
Judi Kauffman, who holds a BFA and MFA, said, "I've always believed people are inherently creative. It's a privilege to be part of a contest that showcases talent, sponsored by a company that helps enhance the creative process."
As in previous contests, contestants can create and submit a custom cover design for any one of the many sizes of UniKeep binders. Entries may be submitted in one of five categories to be eligible to win monthly cash prizes, and the first 50 entries each month will also receive a product prize.
Links to all entries will be posted in the UniKeep 2007 Gallery for the public to access for personal use. The monthly award will be $100 to each category winner. At the end of the contest, $500 will be awarded to each overall "Best of Category" and $1,500 will be awarded as the Grand Prize to the overall "Best of Show".

How to Enter the UniKeep Design Awards Contest From January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007, original art files may be submitted online for one of five design categories. The electronic files must remain available for public download for the duration of the contest on either the UniKeep web site or the entrant's own site. Entrants 13 years or older can enter multiple designs, but only in one category per design. No purchase is necessary to enter.
