Matisse, His Art and His Textiles:
The Fabric of Dreams opens soon at RA
Matisse, His Art and His Textiles: The Fabric of Dreams opens soon Textiles were a primary source of inspiration to Matisse. His extraordinary 'working library' of fabrics, including Persian carpets, African wall-hangings, and Moroccan jackets, unseen for half a century since his death, forms the core of this exhibition. Some 30 paintings and a number of drawings and prints will be presented in a theatrical display alongside the fabrics and costumes which inspired them. Matisse, His Art and His Textiles is no. 3 in Metro Life's '50 Essential Things for 2005'. Don't miss out on this must-see show. Book online now (booking fee applies) or in person at the RA Ticket Office. Opens 5 March.
