The Geneva Motor Show: 100 years of motoring progress
The 2005 Geneva International Motor Show will celebrate both the Centenary of the first national exhibition and the 75th version of the international show. In addition to the usual world and European premieres exhibited each year, this Show will be marked by many special events which should attract large numbers of visitors.
A fabulous special exhibition Visitors will be invited to take a journey through time, in an exclusive cinema studio simulation produced by Télévision Suisse Romande. Around 12 exceptional vehicles, connected with the Swiss automobile industry, will all be exhibited in the setting of their day, from 1905 to the current time and even into the future. Classic cars will also be exhibited in the foyer of the Conference Centre.
Image & Emotion Exhibitors at the Show have been invited to devote part of their stands to a presentation of their history, image and future ambitions. This will give visitors the opportunity of following 100 years of motoring progress while they also view the many world and European premieres throughout the exhibition halls.
A sumptuous commemorative book A lavishly illustrated work of more than 300 pages has been published by the Show in three separate editions (French, English and German ). It is both a history of the exhibition, a journey through the makes and models of the world, a reflection of the technical and human progress made, an overview of the huge social changes brought about by the car and the sporting performances which have been achieved.
As the publisher is not seeking to make a profit, this book written by Joëlle de Syon and Brigitte Sion, is being sold at a price you cannot afford to miss!
Special coins produced by the Swiss Mint Two commemorative gold and silver coins, with a nominal value of CHF 20 and 50, will be specially issued by the Federal Mint. They have been designed by Roger Pfund, a multi-talented and internationally famous artist.
...and yet more The Swiss Post Office is issuing two special stamps which will be released in early 2005.
The Swiss Transport Museum of Lucerne will have a stand promoting the car exhibition A.U.T.O., which will be on show throughout the 2005 season and will commemorate the Centenary of the Geneva exhibition. Visitors will be able to buy two advance tickets for the price of one from the stand.
The Federal Archives and Memoriav will have a stand showing free screenings of a souvenir film based on archives of the Geneva Show.
