Singapore Fashion Week 2005 (SFW2005) will feature a series of international exhibitions catering to the COMPLETE modus operandi in the fashion, garment and textile industry. From raw materials to machinery, from the completed apparel to high-end fashion design, SFW offers a fully comprehensive scope of the various industries.
For the first time since its inauguration 18 years ago, SFW 2005 will cover the entire value chain of the fashion industry, where all events during that period complement and reinforce each other to present a multi-dimensional and comprehensive showcase.
SFW will attract a congregation of who's who from the industry and redefine the parameters of sourcing and distribution for international manufacturers, fashion designers, distributors, agents, importers, retailers, garment and textile designers, merchants and international buying houses.
Other programmes will continue to feature local and regional fashion businesses and designers at different stages of their development, offering important assistance and useful information to budding undergraduates, fledging new businesses and established designers looking towards overseas expansions. Exhibitors, participants, designers and trade visitors can expect a diversified and interactive platform to maximize their exposure within and beyond their industry circle and open gateways for increased business opportunities.

ITMA ASIA 2005 - THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL TEXTILE MACHINERY EXHIBITION

The ITMA exhibition, billed as the 'Olympics' of all textile machinery shows, was started in Europe in 1951. ITMA hence became a vital meeting place for both buyers and sellers from all over the world.
The European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX) made a decision to organize a showcase that caters to the needs of the Asian textile manufacturers. The 1st Asian exhibition of textile machinery, ITMA ASIA, made its debut in 2001. ITMA ASIA is co-organised by Meeting Planners International (MPI), a Singapore-based professional exhibition organiser. The inaugural ITMA Asia held in Singapore in 2001 was a huge success. It featured more than 800 exhibitors from 33 countries and attracted more than 29,000 visitors from 67 countries. The second instalment of ITMA Asia will be held at Singapore Expo from 17 to 21 October 2005. It is supported by the Japan Textile Machinery Association and the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau. Some 1,000 international exhibitors and 50,000 accumulated trade visitors are expected. THE FASHION SHOWS... THE DESIGNERS SHOW (TDS)

TDS is one of the main highlights of Singapore Fashion Week 2005 where established designers from Singapore and beyond turn the heat up on the catwalk with their latest collections in front of an international audience at The Arts House (former Old Parliament House). This show has previously seen the likes of Pacino Wan from Hong Kong, World from New Zealand, Arkadius from the United Kingdom, Kavita Bhartia from India, Melinda Looi from Malaysia, Jim Thompson from Thailand and Singapore's M)phosis, Allure, GG<5, and Daniel Yam. TDS will feature individual and group shows, consisting of women and men's ready-to-wear fashion, as well as lifestyle products.
SINGAPORE FASHION AWARDS 2005 (SFA)

Glamour, Entertainment and Style - SFA will once again honour the contributions of outstanding industry icons who have been nominated by members of the media and the industry for their impact in the fashion scene. SFA recognizes the exceptional contributions of these stars in the industry and gives them the due recognition they deserve.

A black-tie Gala dinner for all who have played a major role in Singapore Fashion Week 2005. The event brings together the organizers, exhibitors and visitors for an evening of networking and building business ties. The highlight of the evening is the glamorous 'The Best of Asia's Designers', where the crème de la crème of the Asian fashion industry will showcase their works on the fashion catwalk.
SINGAPORE FASHION DESIGNERS CONTEST (SFDC)

A platform for nationwide search for the next big thing in Singapore's fashion industry, SFDC has been a crucial platform to launch the careers of up-and-coming fashion designers. Many of the finalists and winners of SFDC have either successfully established their own retail labels or, are playing key roles in a fashion-related business. K.mi Huang, a previous winner, has since set up her own label 'Womb'. The 1st and 2nd prize winners of SFDC will represent Singapore in the Asian Young Fashion Designers Contest (AYFDC).
DARE TO - THE FASHION BASH AT ZOUK

DARE TO - the unconventional party that presents new-name designers in an exuberant celebration of cutting-edge fashion!
ASIAN YOUNG FASHION DESIGNERS CONTEST (AYFDC)
Date: 22nd October 2005 Venue: Raffles City Shopping Centre
In its 17th year, AYFDC is the only regional talent search that showcases and gathers up-and-coming talents from all over, Asia under one roof, to pit their crafts against each other. AYFDC 2005 will showcase the works of designers hailing from countries like India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
SCHOOL CONNEXION (SC)
Date: 23rd October 2005 Venue: Raffles City Shopping Centre
The School Connexion is a fashion show that showcases the best graduate collection created by a degree and diploma students from each of the four major designs schools in Singapore, namely Raffles Design Institute, Temasek Polytechnic School of Design, LaSalle SIA College of the Arts and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
FASHION FIESTA 2005
Date: 23rd October 2005 Venue: Raffles City Shopping Centre
Fashion Fiesta is organized with the youths in mind, providing a platform for youths to realize their aspirations in fashion designing, modelling, and show production. The show will involve youths which will cover all aspects of fashion production. Professional models, designers and industry figures will provide mentorship while working with these aspiring youths to produce the show.
THE FRINGE EVENTS...
PUBLIC EXHIBITION - (TITLE TO BE CONFIRMED)

This fun and interactive public exhibition continues SFW's quest in cultivating an appreciation and understanding of fashion among the general public. A series of informational and educational events will enable the general public to better understand all aspects of fashion production, giving them a deeper insight of the industry.
SFW GOLF TOURNAMENT

This tournament will provide all exhibitors and their visitors/customers an opportunity to network with one other in a more relax social setting. The tournament promises exciting prizes and attractive goodies bags for all golfers.
SEMINARS & CONFERENCES
Date: 19th - 20th October 2005 Venue: Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre
A series of professional seminar and conference programmes, specially designed for manufacturers, designers, buyers, technical support and industry players, over a 3-day period incorporating various aspects of fashion, business and technology.
