Singapore Design Festival 2005
In the second and third weeks of November 2005, DesignSingapore will present Singapore's inaugural Design Festival. With a potential line-up of approximately 120 events stretched over several weeks, the sheer size and scope of the festival will offer a tantalizing menu of activities for everyone, from the savvy pedestrian to the most seasoned designer. The goals of the festival are threefold: to celebrate design, to promote design and to function as a matchmaking platform: of minds and mentors, of designers and entrepreneurs, of design works and businesses.
Several events are in the pipeline to cater to different audiences, including the Global Creative Summit, pitched at high-level international decision makers, strategists and leaders in the creative industries, and ADASIA 2005, Asia's most important regional advertising and marketing communications congress. Other events include international pavilions showcasing the most innovative designs from around the world, designersEopen studios, and a Singapore designers' fair.
As a feast of the top design pickings from around the world, the festival will cross national boundaries by bringing Asia to the world, and the world to Asia. Your participation is crucial in tipping the balance of design off the edge. Join us in growing the smorgasbord of design activities planned.
The Singapore Design Festival is all about pushing boundaries in the new world of ideas.
